Who We Are

Built Around How International Clients Actually Work

Platinum Legal Spain was founded on a simple observation: most traditional Spanish law firms were never designed for foreign clients. Communication was slow, English was patchy, fees were opaque, and clients were expected to travel to an office in person for matters that could easily be handled remotely.

We built something different — a modern, responsive, English-speaking firm that combines experienced Spanish-qualified solicitors with immigration specialists and tax professionals, all working under one roof, entirely online when clients prefer it.

Today we're the trusted legal partner for British, American, Canadian, Irish, Australian and Northern European clients moving to, buying in, or dealing with Spain — from a single non-resident tax return to complex cross-border inheritance matters.

FAQs

About Platinum Legal Spain

Can you help if I've already started a matter with another firm and want to switch?

Yes — this is very common. Many clients come to us after becoming frustrated with slow replies, unclear fees, or language barriers at another firm. We can take over mid-process in most cases: we'll review what's been done so far, flag anything that needs correcting, and pick things up from wherever you are. If we don't think switching is in your best interest, we'll tell you that too.

Do I need to visit an office in Spain?

In most cases, no. We handle the majority of matters — including visas, property purchases, wills, tax and company formation — entirely online using secure video calls and electronic signatures. If in-person is needed, we have offices in Murcia, Torrevieja and Valencia.

How are your fees structured?

We work on fixed fees agreed up front for almost every matter. Once your engagement letter is signed, the price doesn't change unless the scope of work does. We don't use hourly billing for standard work.

Which nationalities do you typically work with?

We work primarily with British, American, Canadian, Irish, Australian and Northern European clients — along with a growing number of digital nomads from across the world. Our service is delivered in English.

Can you coordinate with my lawyer, accountant or financial advisor back home?

Yes. We routinely work alongside UK, US, Irish and other advisors — especially on cross-border inheritance, tax residency, and corporate matters. Spain is one piece of a larger picture and we build our advice accordingly.

Are all of your solicitors bar-registered with their respective Colegio de Abogados?

Yes. Every solicitor at Platinum Legal Spain is fully bar-registered with their respective Colegio de Abogados (the Spanish Bar Association governing their region). Each solicitor also holds their own individual professional liability insurance provided through the Colegio de Abogados — giving you an added layer of protection on top of our firm-level cover.

Which areas of Spain do you cover?

The whole country. Because most of our work is handled securely online, we act for clients right across Spain. We have solicitors on the ground in Murcia, Alicante, Valencia, the Costa del Sol and Madrid, plus offices you can visit in Murcia, Torrevieja and Valencia City.

What types of matters can you help with?

The things international clients in Spain need most: buying and selling property, residency and immigration (such as the Non-Lucrative Visa, Digital Nomad Visa and student visas), wills and inheritance, Spanish tax and compliance, company formation, and everyday admin like the NIE and empadronamiento. Where your situation spans several of these, we join them up for you.

Can you help if I don't speak any Spanish?

Yes — that's exactly who we're here for. Our team is fully bilingual in English and Spanish: we deal with the Spanish-language forms, officials and notaries for you and explain everything to you in clear English, so you always understand what's happening and what you're signing.

Can you help me before I move to Spain?

Very often, yes. A great deal of our work is done before clients relocate — starting a visa application, obtaining a NIE, running the legal side of a property purchase, and planning your tax position — so everything is ready for the day you arrive. Most of it can be completed remotely.

Is everything I share with you kept confidential?

Yes. As a professional legal practice we treat what you tell us with strict confidentiality, and we handle your personal data in line with Spanish and EU data-protection law (GDPR). Your information is used only to advise you and move your matter forward.

Do you have legal, tax and immigration specialists in-house?

Yes. Under one roof we bring together bar-registered solicitors, immigration specialists, accountants and gestores, and a dedicated tax and compliance team. That means your property, visa, tax, inheritance and everyday admin can all be handled in one place, by the right specialist for each — without you stitching together several separate providers.
